Ladies and Gentlemen:
HAWAIIAN GARDENS, CA –Veteran health care executive Jim Sherman, who has worked with some of the largest and most respected hospitals in southern California, has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Gardens Regional Hospital and Medical Center formerly doing business as Tri-City Regional Medical Center.
Sherman was unanimously appointed CEO by the hospital’s Board of Directors. The Board cited his extensive background as both an executive and lead consultant at some of the most noted hospitals in the southern California.
“Jim is a proven leader in hospital operations and has already served the hospital very effectively as Executive Director of Operations for the last several months,” said Brian Walton, chairman of the Board of Directors of Gardens Regional Hospital and Medical Center formerly doing business as Tri-City Regional Medical Center. “Given his leadership experience and reputation in the field, we are fortunate to have someone of Jim’s caliber lead us into the future. In just a short period, he has already made an impact on staff, our physicians and in the community.”
Prior to Tri-City, Sherman served as interim Chief Executive Officer for Sherman Oaks Hospital and Grossman Burn Center in Sherman Oaks, California. Most recently he acted as President and Chief Executive Officer at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, successfully rebuilding the main campus and improving employee engagement.
His commitment to the community has earned him the privilege of serving as a board member for local associations including Valley Industry Commerce Association, Alliance for the Arts in Thousand Oaks and Chairman of the Ventura County Chapter of Hospital Association of Southern California from 2008-2010 respectively.
“Tri-City Regional is a perfect fit for my experience and I look forward to raising the bar on all levels of clinical care, customer service and physician relations,” he said. “This facility has a rich history of serving the community with high quality patient care as well as treating many patients from all over the country thanks to our physicians’ expertise in orthopedics, spine surgery and weight loss surgery.”
Jim earned his Master’s and Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration from the California State University, Northridge where he assumed an instructor role one year later.
Very truly yours,
Brian Walton, Chairman
